All sets include a leather bag and hand-stitched bellows.
Bellows purchased separately are £350. Two sizes are available: small-pipes and Uilleann pipes.
Repairs and restoration work are charged at £25 per hour. Projects involving replacement parts may require significant workshop time. Missing components can often be fully reconstructed. Please contact us to discuss your requirements. Work is undertaken on a wide range of instruments, from small-pipes to Uilleann pipes.
Our philosophy is to preserve original material wherever possible. Original damaged parts are retained and replaced with accurate replicas where appropriate. We do not normally rebore other makers' instruments or historical pipes, but we are always pleased to help return old instruments to playing condition through sympathetic restoration.
All orders require a 30% deposit. Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed, as workshop time and materials must be covered.
Shipping may not be included and depends on the destination. Instruments are shipped only through reputable, fully insured carriers. If we happen to be travelling to your country, we may be able to arrange domestic shipping or collection in person.
All small-pipes chanters are supplied with either an Iain Allen cane reed or a cypress/spruce reed from the workshop. If you have a preference, or if local environmental conditions may affect performance (for example, dry winters or high altitude), please let us know.
All Border pipes chanters are supplied with two Iain Allen cane reeds made from single-origin cane sourced from Var, France.
Keys are available for standard small-pipes at £75 each, in either brass or nickel silver. Silver-plated and solid silver options are available on request.
Prototype chanters may occasionally be offered for sale without a waiting list and at a discounted price.
Custom work is welcome. Adjustments to tenon dimensions or stock length are provided free of charge. New design work, such as a keyed Double D chanter, is charged at £25 per hour.
Second thumb holes are fitted as standard on standard small-pipes chanters. If you do not require one, please let us know and it will be omitted at no extra charge.
If bellows are not required, deduct £250 per set. If the bag is also not required, deduct a further £50.
Additional drone configurations, decorative metalwork, tuning beads, and other custom features are available on request.
Three-dimensional models may also be purchased under a CC BY-NC-ND licence. Pricing is three times the retail value of the equivalent instrument. For example, a Lindsay system small-pipes set priced at £1,200 would be available as a digital model for £3,600.
All instruments are covered by warranty for as long as the workshop remains in operation. Manufacturing defects and design faults will be repaired or replaced free of charge.

Estimated delivery dates are provided as informal projections and cannot be guaranteed. We will do our best to keep customers informed of progress throughout the build process.
Please avoid repeatedly chasing updates by email, direct message, or public forum posts. Such enquiries do not accelerate production or alter a customer's position in the queue.
Although many components are digitally manufactured, every instrument is assembled, adjusted, tested, and fine-tuned by hand over an extended period. Instruments are released only when they are ready.
Orders may be cancelled at any time, but deposits remain non-refundable.
